Zinnia 'Scarlet Flame'

Zinnia elegans
Zinnia with large dahlia-like flowers in a magnificent bright dark red color. A nice element in the flowerbed and bouquets. Can also be grown in a pot. The flowers attract beneficial insects to the garden. Very easy to grow. Pick off wilted flowers gradually and it will bloom all summer. Thrives in nutritious, loose soil. Does not want to dry out. Can also be sown on the site in May/June. Cultivation: Pre-cultivated. Sow sparsely in moistened seedbed. Place in bright light and keep moist. Transplant to 1 plant/pot with fertilized soil when the plants are large enough to handle. Place in bright and cool light. Plant out when the risk of night frost is over.
