Clary sage
Latin name: Salvia sclarea
Clary sage is an impressive biennial or short-lived perennial herb that combines decorative beauty with a strong, aromatic scent. The large, hairy leaves have a spicy, nutmeg-like scent, and the tall flower stalks are adorned with bright pink, purple and white flowers that attract bees and butterflies. The plant is used both as an ornamental and in herbal medicine, fragrance oils and cooking.
