Cultivation description: Carrot – Darina

Description:
Darina is a reliable and high-yielding carrot variety suitable for both fresh consumption and storage. The roots are even, smooth and have an intense orange color with a sweet taste. It is perfect for salads, cooking and as a snack straight from the garden.

Packaging Information:
One package contains 0.5 grams of seeds , which corresponds to approximately 4100 seeds.

Sowing and planting:

  • Sowing depth: 1–2 cm
  • Sowing time: April – June
  • Row spacing: 30–40 cm
  • Plant spacing: Thin to 5 cm between the plants when the first leaves come up

Care:

Carrots thrive in sandy, well-drained and stone-free soil. Prepare the soil well by clearing weeds and loosening the surface. Water regularly, but avoid water logging. Thin early to give the roots room to grow.

Harvest time:

August – October.

Tip: For a longer harvest period, the sowing can be divided into batches with two-week intervals. Please cover with fiber cloth to protect against the carrot fly and retain moisture.
