Latin name: Beta vulgaris L.

Swiss chard 'Magenta Sunset' is a beautiful and flavorful variety with brilliant pink-red stems and dark green leaves. It has a mild, slightly nutty flavor and is excellent both raw and cooked. The leaves can be used like spinach, while the crispy stems can be cooked like asparagus.
