A true historical beauty! 'Painted Lady' was introduced in 1737 and is one of the very first sweet peas to be bred. It has survived for generations – preserved by a relative in Australia – and still spreads its lovely fragrance and charm in our gardens today.

With its two-toned flowers in pink and white , and its climbing habit , it is perfect for trellises, fences or in bouquets. A flower that carries both fragrance and history .

Cultivation & Care:

  • Sowing period: April–May, directly in open ground

  • Germination tip: Soak seeds for 12 hours before sowing

  • Germinates in: 5–10 days at soil temperature above 10°C

  • Flowering time: July–September

  • Growth habit: Climbing, needs support

  • Height: approx. 150 cm

  • Plant distance: 10 cm

  • Row spacing: 50 cm

  • Sowing depth: approx. 2 cm
