Kohlrabi Giant

Description:
Giant is a large-grown variety of kohlrabi that is ideal for a long harvest period. It forms large, well-shaped tubers with juicy and flaky flesh that has a mild, sweet flavor. The variety is excellent for both raw consumption and cooking in soups, stews or as an oven-baked vegetable. It is also storable and can maintain its quality for a long time after harvest.

Sowing instructions

Sowing depth: 1 cm

  • Pre-cultivation: Start pre-cultivation indoors in March-April. Sow the seeds in small pots with soil and place in a bright and warm place, for example in a greenhouse or on a windowsill. The plants are ready for transplanting when they have developed 4-6 leaves and the risk of frost is over.
  • Sowing time directly in open field: April – June
  • Planting of pre-cultivated plants: April – June

Plant distance: 40 x 30 cm


Harvest information

  • Harvest period: July – November
  • Harvest when the tubers have reached the desired size. Don't let them overripe to avoid woodiness.
