Canna 'Lily'

Latin name: Canna indica

Canna 'Lily' is a magnificent perennial with large, exotic flowers in vibrant colours such as red, orange, yellow and pink. The broad, decorative leaves give a tropical feel and make it perfect for borders, pots and as a solitary plant.

Cultivation information:

  • Packaging: 1 g seeds
  • Sowing time: February–April (pre-cultivation)
  • Flowering time: July–October
  • Sowing depth: 1–2 cm
  • Plant distance: 30–50 cm
  • Height: 80–150 cm
  • Location: Full sun
  • Soil type: Nutritious, well-drained and moisture-retaining soil
  • Watering: Regular, keep the soil moist but not wet

Pre-cultivation:

  • Lightly file down the hard seed coat and soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing.
  • Sow indoors in pots at around 20–25°C and plant out when the risk of frost is over.

Use: Perfect in flowerbeds, large pots and as a solitary plant in the garden.

Canna 'Lily' produces a long and impressive bloom and creates an exotic and colorful atmosphere in the garden.
