Brussels sprouts – Casiopea
Description:
Casiopea is a medieval variety suitable for autumn and winter harvest. The plant grows to a height of 110-125 cm and produces many compact, evenly sized heads. Can be harvested until January during mild winters. Perfect for fresh consumption after harvest and for freezing.

How to grow Brussels sprouts - Casiopea from seed
Pre-cultivation in greenhouse
- Sowing depth: 1–2 cm.
- Sowing time: February – April.

Sowing instructions:
- Sow the seeds in seed boxes or small pots filled with nutritious and well-drained soil.
- Place the seed in a bright and cool area with a temperature of 15-18°C.
- Keep the soil evenly moist.
Direct sowing outdoors
- Sowing depth: 1–2 cm.
- Sowing time: April – May.
- Location: Choose a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained and nutrient-rich soil.
Planting out seedlings
- Planting time: 15 May – June.
- Plant spacing: 50–70 cm between rows and 50–60 cm between plants.
- Location: Brussels sprouts do best in a sunny location with moisture-retaining soil that is rich in organic matter.
Care and maintenance
- Watering: Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, especially during dry periods.
