Echinacea purpurea

A beloved classic with both beauty and healing power ! Red coneflower adorns the perennial bed with its deep purple petals and stately center buds. It is not only a fantastic cut flower , but has also been used traditionally as a medicinal plant to strengthen the immune system.

The plant is very hardy , attracts bees and butterflies, and returns year after year with abundant flowering. Sow early in the year for flowering the following year.

  • Sowing period: February–April (indoors), or directly outdoors in May

  • Flowering: From the second year, July–September

  • Growth habit: Upright, perennial

  • Height: approx. 80–100 cm

  • Location: Sunny to light partial shade
