Pea (Pisum sativum)

An eye-catching pea variety with dark purple pods and delicious flavor ! 'Désirée' is a versatile pea that can be harvested early as a sugar pea and eaten whole – crunchy and sweet – or later as a marsh pea , where you strain out the green peas for cooking.

The flowers are a beautiful purple and attract bees and other pollinators, making the plant as decorative as it is useful in the kitchen garden. Support it by climbing on trellises, netting or pea spikes for the best harvest and shape.
