Tokyo Bekana – Asian leafy vegetable
Brassica rapa var. chinensis
Tokyo Bekana is a mild and succulent Asian leaf vegetable with light green, curly leaves reminiscent of lettuce – but with the nutritional richness of the cabbage family. It is fast-growing, easy to grow and very versatile in the kitchen. Harvest as baby leaves for salads or let the leaves grow larger for frying, stir-frying or steaming.
Thrives in cool climates and can be sown in early spring or late summer for fall harvest. Perfect for those who want to grow Asian crops with European simplicity.
