Sugar pea Iłówiecki

Description:
Sugar pea Iłówiecki is an early and sweet variety that develops tall plants with stiff stems and bright green pods without the hard membrane. The young pods are delicate and tasty, and can be eaten whole, either raw or cooked. The seeds can also be frozen to preserve the flavor. Perfect for salads, as a side dish or for the freezer.

One package contains 50 g of seeds , which corresponds to approximately 250 seeds. (+/- 20%)

Sowing instructions

Sowing depth: 3–4 cm

  • Pre-cultivation: Pre-cultivate in a greenhouse from March to April to get an early harvest.
  • Direct sowing: Sow seeds directly outdoors from March to April when the soil has warmed and the risk of frost is over.
  • Plant distance: 30–40 x 5 cm to give the plants good air circulation and optimal growing conditions.

Harvest

  • Harvest time: June – July
  • Harvest when pods are young and tender for best flavor. Sugar pea Iłówiecki gives a good and long harvest season if it is managed properly.
