White van Lissabon spring onions – Classic and versatile
Latin name : Allium cepa L.
Witte van Lissabon is a classic green onion with long, white stems and a mild, delicate flavour. Perfect as a fresh addition to salads, soups or stir-fries. It is fast-growing and ideal for both early harvest and late summer cultivation.
- Packaging : 1.5 g seeds.
- Sowing time : February–September (direct sowing) or pre-cultivate indoors for earlier harvest.
- Harvest time : Ready to harvest approximately 8 weeks after sowing.
- Sowing depth : 1 cm.
- Plant spacing : 5 cm between plants and 20 cm between rows.
- Location : Thrives best in sunny to semi-shady locations.
- Growing tips : Sow in batches for continuous supply. For bushier stems, mound soil around plants during growth.
